Kyle
\nDaukaus<\/a> had to conquer some demons after the end of his first
\nstint with the Ultimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Daukaus (17-4) is scheduled to fight Bo Nickal<\/a>
\n(8-1) in a middleweight matchup on the
\nUFC White House<\/a> card on June 14. The placement of Daukaus on
\nthe seven-bout billing surprised many, given that one year ago,
\nDaukaus was on the outside of the UFC looking in. His first stint
\ndid not go well, with the Pennsylvanian washing out of the
\npromotion with a record of 2-4-1.<\/p>\n

After leaving the UFC, \u201cThe D\u2019Arce Knight\u201d saddled back up with his
\ndevelopmental organization of Cage Fury Fighting Championships<\/a> in the
\ntri-state area. In the span of a year, Daukaus crushed four foes to
\npick up a title and rebuild his confidence. A late replacement
\nopportunity against Michel
\nPereira<\/a> in 2025 worked in his favor as he staged the surprise
\nupset in his UFC return to make himself one to watch in the
\ndivision going forward. His 50-second submission of Gerald
\nMeerschaert<\/a> springboarded him into the biggest opportunity of
\nhis career.<\/p>\n

Hated the UFC, hated the sport<\/h2>\n

Daukaus recently revealed that he did not have good feelings about
\nthe UFC after he was released the first time. While he kept
\ntraining, Daukaus admitted that he wasn\u2019t even sure if he would
\ncontinue fighting professionally, and even shied away from watching
\nUFC fights for a few months. However, he then consciously decided
\nthat he had to make his way back into the UFC if he wanted to
\ncontinue fighting for a living. Daukaus said in an interview with
\nthe UFC:<\/p>\n

\u201cI kind of hated the UFC, to be honest with you, after that
\nhappened. Not like hated the company in itself, but just hated the
\nsport itself. I didn\u2019t watch any of the fights for a good three or
\nfour months. I trained a ton but I really kind of got away from the
\nUFC, got away from watching it. And I wasn\u2019t really sure if I was
\ngonna continue. I was really hesitant on what was gonna happen.
\nThen I told myself that if I\u2019m gonna continue to do this, I had to
\nget back to the UFC. There\u2019s no ifs and buts about it. This is what
\nI\u2019m gonna do and I\u2019m gonna get back, and here I am.\u201d<\/p>\n
