\nAspinall<\/a> in the eyes.<\/p>\n

Gane challenged Aspinall for the undisputed heavyweight title at
\nUFC 320 last October. The highly anticipated matchup met with an
\nanticlimactic end as Gane unintentionally poked Aspinall in both
\neyes at the same time in the first round. The fight was declared a
\nno contest after Aspinall was unable to continue despite taking
\nfour out of the five allotted minutes to recover. Although early
\ninto the matchup, some suggested Gane was getting the better of the
\nBrit while it lasted.<\/p>\n

Gane admits that he made a mistake, although it was unintentional.
\n\u201cBon Gamin\u201d explains that he had mistimed a kick to the midsection,
\nwhich Aspinall tried to capitalize on by moving forward. The
\nFrenchman instinctively extended his hand to push Aspinall back and
\nended up poking his eyes.<\/p>\n

The division keeps turning<\/h2>\n

With Aspinall still recovering from the eye injury, Gane is now
\nscheduled to fight Alex
\nPereira<\/a> for an interim heavyweight belt in the co-main event of
\nthe
\nUFC White House<\/a> card on June 14. Gane is confident that he will
\ndefeat Pereira and unify the strap against Aspinall. Gane said on a
\nUFC Countdown<\/a> video:<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, I did a mistake during this middle kick. And he
\ntried to go forward. So, my hand was there; I tried to push him.
\nAnd the first thing I pushed was his head. Unfortunately, I touched
\nhis eyes\u2026 It was a mistake; it was my mistake\u2026 I\u2019m on a mission to
\nwin the undisputed belt. I\u2019m gonna win this fight against Pereira.
\nAnd I\u2019m gonna go have my revenge against Tom Aspinall and [claim]\nmy undisputed title.\u201d<\/p>\n
