\nUFC White House<\/a> event on Sunday, the duel between Brazilian
\nAlex
\nPereira<\/a> and Frenchman Ciryl Gane<\/a>
\nfor the interim UFC heavyweight title has generated as much if not
\nmore debate than the main event. between American Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> and Spaniard Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a>. One of the reasons for this is Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a>\u2019s status as a massive betting favorite over Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> while \u2018Poatan\u2019 and Gane currently see odds that are
\ndead even.<\/p>\n

In the opinion of former UFC heavyweight champions, Fabricio
\nWerdum<\/a> and Junior dos
\nSantos<\/a>, the confrontation could become a closely contested
\naffair between two great strikers, but the Brazilian\u2019s game plan
\nwill make the difference. With the experience of having faced Gane
\nin his last UFC fight, at UFC 256 in 2020 when he was stopped with
\nelbow strikes, dos Santos believes that Pereira\u2019s aggressiveness
\nand KO power will be a key point.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think [Pereira\u2019s] style will complicate [Gane],\u201d \u201cCigano\u201d
\nmentioned. \u201cAlex goes on the offensive mode all the time and always
\ncutting angles, circling and gradually breaking down his opponents.
\nGane moves well backwards, but once \u2018Poatan\u2019 cuts angles very well,
\nthey must collide, and when it happens, \u2018Poatan\u2019 has the advantage
\nof having one-punch knockout power. There couldn’t have been a

\nSunday, but sees a different path for \u201cPoatan\u201d to prevail. In
\nWerdum\u2019s opinion, Francis
\nNgannou<\/a> and Jon Jones<\/a>
\nexposed the Frenchman\u2019s weak point.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are both great strikers, if \u2018Poatan\u2019 decides to exchange
\npunches it can be a chess match with Ciryl having more chances to
\nsurprise,\u201d Werdum analyzed. \u201cI saw \u2018Poatan\u2019 training on the ground
\nwith Glover
\n[Teixeira]<\/a> and he clearly evolved his ground skills, so in my
\nopinion he should expose Ciryl like Ngannou and Jones did. If
\n\u2018Poatan\u2019 believes in his jiu-jitsu skills, he will be able to
\nsubmit Gane. Besides not having a good ground game, Gane has a
\nsmall heart, I realized that in his fight with Jon Jones. He
\naccepted the defeat, stood still and didn\u2019t even attempt a defense

\nstanding up, but if he takes Gane to the ground, he will make it
