Steve
\nGarcia<\/a> is hoping that an eight-fight win streak after
\nprevailing at the White House will be enough to punch his ticket to
\ngold.<\/p>\n

Garcia opens the
\nUFC White House card<\/a> against two-time title challenger Diego Lopes<\/a>
\non Sunday. Residing in the No. 3 and No. 12 spots at featherweight,
\nrespectively, on
\nSherdog\u2019s Official Rankings<\/a>, Garcia believes an upset over the
\ntop-ranked Brazilian immediately makes him relevant in the
\n145-pound title picture.<\/p>\n

Garcia plans to dominate Lopes from the opening bell. While \u201cMean
\nMachine\u201d doesn\u2019t want to divulge much, he advises fans not to
\nblink. Garcia said in an interview with the UFC:<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving an opponent like Diego Lopes, knowing where his ranking is
\nat. Having the opportunity to fight someone that high, challenging
\nmyself, but also being able to put myself in a position where I
\ncould challenge for the title\u2026 I\u2019m just gonna go out there and
\ndominate him. Dominate him from the start of the bell to the end of
\nthe bell. I don\u2019t care how I get it done; it just has to happen.
\nI\u2019m not gonna give away [my plan], but don\u2019t blink; there\u2019s a
\nreason why we\u2019re the first fight to open up the card.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garcia (19-5) has won seven straight dating back to 2022, picking
\nup six finishes along the way. Meanwhile, Lopes (27-8) has come up
\nshort in two title bids against Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> in his last three outings, with those championship
\ntilts bookending a stoppage win over Jean
