Allen (27-7) was just 25 when he suffered his first loss in the
\n
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> against Strickland (31-7) in
\n2020. While Allen has since grown into a middleweight contender,
\nStrickland has won the title twice, most recently against Khamzat
\nChimaev<\/a> at UFC 328<\/a>
\nlast month.<\/p>\n

Allen now wants to avenge his loss against Strickland. Allen
\nbelieves that while he has developed substantially since his loss
\nagainst Strickland, the champion is still the same fighter he faced
\nin 2020. \u201cAll In\u201d recently earned a unanimous decision win over
\nStrickland\u2019s teammate, Edmen
\nShahbazyan<\/a>. Allen considers Shahbazyan a better version of
\nStrickland. According to Allen, Shahbazyan is technically more
\nsound than Strickland, even though his resume might not reflect
\nthat.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Strickland] is the same guy that I fought then, and I\u2019m not,\u201d
\nAllen told Home of Fight. \u201cNot even close to the same guy. I\u2019m more
\nmature, I\u2019m older, more of a vet. I\u2019ve been around the block a time
\nor two. And I think I could beat him everywhere. I think Edmen is a
\nbetter version of him. I truly do. Obviously, he hasn\u2019t beat the
\nguys, he hasn\u2019t had the accolades. But stylistically, I feel like
\nhe is better. He\u2019s faster, he\u2019s quicker. I think the only think
\nSean does different is he leans backwards, which makes it awkward
\nfor whoever he fights. But technically I think Edmen is a little
\nbit better.\u201d<\/p>\n
