The FBI revealed on Tuesday that it was able to halt a potential
\nterrorist threat that targeted the
\nUFC White House<\/a> event and its attendees this past Sunday.<\/p>\n

According to Fox News<\/a>, the alleged plan included using
\nexplosive-laden drones to force an evacuation, where crowds would
\nbe directed toward an area with snipers in place. The group
\nincluded a \u201csecond wave,\u201d which planned to storm the White House
\ngate, per the report.<\/p>\n

As of Monday, five people were in custody \u2014 with 23 in total
\nidentified as part of the alleged terrorist plot. One of those
\narrested was 19-year-old Tycen Proper, of Danville, Ohio, who
\naccording to the Columbus Dispatch<\/a>, is charged in U.S. District
\nCourt in Columbus with conspiracy to commit an offense against the
\nUnited States, attempted murder of any officer or employee of the
\nUnited States, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of
\nviolence and receipt or transfer of a firearm used to commit a
\nfelony.<\/p>\n

Proper has been identified by federal prosecutors as one of the
\ngroup\u2019s leaders. Court documents reveal that Proper used $3,000 of
\ngraduation money to purchase equipment for that alleged attack that
\nincluded \u201can estimated thousands of rounds of ammunition, two plate
\ncarriers with AR-style magazines, an AR-style rifle and a bullpup
\nrifle painted with an American flag.\u201d Proper\u2019s mother alerted
\nauthorities after she became concerned about her son\u2019s behavior. In
\na sworn affadavit provided to the FBI, Proper\u2019s mother revealed
\nthat her son had been interacting with a group that claimed to be
\nformer military and \u201cChristian-based\u201d that expressed “ultra-religious and anti-government sentiments, specifically
\nciting grievances about government corruption, the handling of the
\nEpstein files, data centers taking up all the water in communities
\nand other government actions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Court records state that Proper hoped to \u201c\u2018jumpstart\u2019 a revolution
\nin the United States\u201d with the attack. Another suspect told
\ninvestigators that the primary targets were \u201ccapitalist elites,\u201d
\nbillionaires\u201d and politicians who received donations from the
\nAmerican Israel Public Affairs Committee.<\/p>\n

The FBI, which reportedly first learned of the terrorist threat on
\nJune 10, collaborated with the Department of Justice, the Secret
\nService and other law enforcement partners to thwart the alleged
\nplot.<\/p>\n

“While the result represented the best of investigative work, it
\nwas also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement
\nteam,” FBI Director Patel told Fox News. “We are built to detect,
\nrespond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of
\nAmerican citizens \u2014 particularly during large gatherings like the
\nhistoric UFC 250 fight. That\u2019s exactly what we did here.<\/p>\n

“I want to thank our great agents and partners, this work remains
\nongoing, and we will continue to update the public as
\npermitted.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Fox News, the UFC White House event drew approximately
\n4,300 attendees \u2014 including 1,200 active-duty military members and
\nPresident Donald Trump, whose birthday was on June 14. The crowd
\nincluded another 80,000 for a watch party at the nearby Ellipse
\nPark. Trump said he was not aware of the planned attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t heard about it,\u201d Trump said in an interview posted by
\nAaron Rupar on social media. \u201cThe attack that I watched were the
\nfighters. \u2026 They were as good a fights as I\u2019ve ever seen, the best.
\nThat last fight was brutal and the two last\u2014all of the fights were
\ngood. It was all good, it was a great evening, it was very
\ndifferent for the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n
