\nGane<\/a>\u2019s penchant for landing illegal blows undoubtedly has his
\nopponents concerned. <\/p>\n

Gane (14-2) faced Alex
\nPereira<\/a> (13-4) for the interim heavyweight title in the co-main
\nevent at
\nUFC White House<\/a> on June 14. Gane rocked Pereira with a jab
\nearly in the second round and followed up with vicious shots,
\nforcing \u201cPoatan\u201d to turtle-up. Gane then dropped multiple 12-to-6
\nelbows at the back of Pereira\u2019s head, which are officially illegal
\nblows. However, there was no acknowledgement from referee Herb Dean<\/a> that
\nany of the blows landed by Gane were illegal. While Pereira still
\nmanaged to return to his feet, Gane, smelling blood, followed up
\nwith a vicious flurry to secure a standing technical
\nknockout. <\/p>\n

\nO’Malley<\/a> knocked out Aiemann
\nZahabi<\/a> in the second round of their bantamweight matchup on the
\nsame card. \u201cSuga\u201d revealed that Pereira was specifically reminding
\nthe referee about illegal back of the head shots during the rules
\nmeeting. O\u2019Malley also recalls that this was not the first time
\nGane landed back of the head shots while finishing an opponent.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know what\u2019s funny, in the rules meeting when Pereira was
\ntalking to the ref, they were having the translator go over, like,
\n\u2018Back of the head,\u2019\u201d O\u2019Malley said on YouTube<\/a>. \u201cBecause I remember when Gane finished
\n[JDS] and elbowing him in the back of the head.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gane has often been called out by fans and pundits for throwing
\nillegal blows. Gane poked heavyweight champion Tom
\nAspinall<\/a> simultaneously in both eyes at UFC 320 last year. The
\nfight ended in a no contest, as the eye poke was unintentional.
\nGane has previously landed back of the head shots on Junior dos
\nSantos<\/a> and Tai Tuivasa<\/a>
\nwhile finishing them.<\/p>\n
