\nGaethje<\/a> has found the proverbial second wind in his
\ncareer. <\/p>\n

Gaethje (28-5) reached the pinnacle of his career by dethroning
\nIlia
\nTopuria<\/a> (17-1) to win the undisputed lightweight title at
\n
\nUFC White House<\/a> last weekend. \u201cThe Highlight\u201d survived an
\nonslaught in the second round, while battering Topuria for the rest
\nof the fight, forcing his corner to throw in the towel after the
\nfourth round. <\/p>\n

There were speculations about Gaethje retiring if he lost to
\nTopuria at the White House. However, the 37-year-old announced that
\nhe had promised his mom not to decide on retirement immediately
\nafter winning the title. Tsarukyan (23-3) urges Gaethje not to
\nretire. Tsarukyan believes Gaethje still has a couple of years left
\nin him, judging by how good he looked last weekend. Tsarukyan notes
\nthat Gaethje looked almost unscathed despite taking hard shots from
\nTopuria. Tsarukyan is considered the frontrunner for the next
\nlightweight title shot against Gaethje. \u201cAhalkalakets\u201d would resort
\nto wrestling against Gaethje, as he saw holes in the newly crowned
\nchampion\u2019s ground game.<\/p>\n

A New Version<\/h2>\n

\u201cHe shouldn’t retire because he looked so good,\u201d Tsarukyan said on
\n\u201cThe Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d \u201cI think he\u2019s got maybe two more years.
\nHe’s on his prime. He looks strong, fast. Good cardio, good chin…
\nIt’s like a new version of Justin
\nGaethje<\/a>\u2026 He was taking hard punches from Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a> and he didn\u2019t even shake\u2026 And he has no scratches on
\nhis face, that\u2019s crazy\u2026 I’m going to go in there take him down and
\nchoke him. I won’t strike with him\u2026 He doesn\u2019t know how to escape
\nfrom the mount, he just turned his back.\u201d
