Pereira faced Gane for the interim heavyweight title at
\nUFC White House<\/a> last weekend. Gane hurt Pereira in the second
\nround and finished him on the feet, albeit not without the
\ncontroversy of some illegal blows. <\/p>\n

Jones reacted to Pereira\u2019s loss by posting a video of himself
\nwearing a GOAT necklace, signifying the greatest fighter of all
\ntime. Pereira was admittedly surprised by Jones\u2019 reaction to his
\nloss. Pereira doesn\u2019t understand why Jones chose to kick him while
\nhe was down. Pereira also notes that he had never shown anything
\nbut respect towards \u201cBones.\u201d Despite the reaction, \u201cPoatan\u201d claims
\nhe will continue being a fan of Jones.<\/p>\n

A Confusing Reaction<\/h2>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I was very surprised,\u201d Pereira said on YouTube<\/a>. \u201cIf I was one of the guys that
\nprovoked him, then lose, and then he goes and says something, I\u2019d
\nunderstand. But I\u2019ve never spoken bad about Jon Jones<\/a>.
\nI\u2019ve always respected\u2026 For real, I don\u2019t understand why he did
\nthat. In a moment so difficult, he decided to provoke someone who\u2019s
\nnever provoked him. Look at the difference. When he was going
\nthrough a difficult time, I sent him support\u2026 Even with all this
\nI\u2019ll not stop being a fan of him. I\u2019ve always spoken well about
\nhim.\u201d <\/p>\n

Pereira (13-4) and Jones (28-1) have been respectful towards each
\nother in the past. Pereira had even called
\nfor a White House matchup against Jones<\/a>, who was begging to be
\non the card. Jones had even thanked Pereira for his callout. In
\nJones\u2019 defense, his latest dig was likely more at Dana White than
\nat Pereira. White had been lauding Jones as the GOAT before he
\nabruptly retired last year without fighting then-interim champ

\nAspinall<\/a>. White had said that he would consider Pereira the
\nGOAT if he defeated Gane at the White House. <\/p>\n
