\nUFC<\/a> veteran for his spectacular debut on Saturday. <\/p>\n

Magomedov (11-0) made his promotional debut against Melsik
\nBaghdasaryan<\/a> (8-4) at UFC Fight Night 279 on Saturday at the
\nApex in Las Vegas. While Baghdasaryan landed some powerful strikes
\nearly, Magomedov took him down quickly and started looking for a
\nrear-naked choke. As Baghdasaryan tried to turn into Magomedov, the
\nKyrgyz prospect locked in a modified twister to secure a submission
\nwin at 1:17 of the opening round. Magomedov scored the fourth
\ntwister submission in UFC history in his debut in the
\npromotion. <\/p>\n

Magomedov subsequently said that he had been specifically training
\nthe twister in the gym for a long time. The undefeated
\nfeatherweight prospect further revealed that he learned the move
\nfrom former UFC flyweight, Askar
\nAskarov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Askarov (15-1) look immensely promising in his short-lived UFC
\ncareer. \u201cBullet\u201d fought Brandon
\nMoreno<\/a> to a draw and defeated Tim Elliott<\/a>,
\nAlexandre
\nPantoja<\/a> and Joseph
\nBenavidez<\/a> before suffering his lone professional loss against
\nKai
\nKara-France<\/a> in 2022. While, Askarov was scheduled to fight
\nBrandon
\nRoyval<\/a> later that year, he pulled out due to weight management
\nissues. Askarov subsequently asked for and was granted his release
\nfrom the UFC. Askarov has since competed only once more in 2023,
\npicking up a win on the regional circuit. <\/p>\n
