Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> exhibited threatening behavior during his arrest for
\npublic intoxication this past Sunday.<\/p>\n

In a video from the Atlanta Police Department obtained by TMZ
\nSports, Poirier is seen being argumentative and threatening to
\nfight a police officer before being arrested.<\/p>\n

<\/center> The retired
\nUFC<\/a> veteran initially became agitated after he was pulled off a
\nplane at the Atlanta airport. An officer wearing a body cam
\nresponded to the scene after Poirier was hostile toward gate
\nagents.<\/p>\n

The officer recognizes Poirier, which only serves to agitate the
\nLouisiana native even further. That\u2019s when Poirier removes his
\nbackpack, and threatens to fight the officer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll fight you right now,\u201d Poirier says. \u201cI\u2019ll go with you right
\nnow. Let\u2019s go. Yeah, tell \u2018em. Tell \u2018em to come on, because it\u2019s
\ngoing to be bad. What\u2019s up? You want to fight?\u201d<\/p>\n

The officer then calls for backup while apparently pulling out a
\ntaser.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou gonna tase me?\u201d Poirier said. \u201cYou gonna tase me, dog? I\u2019m
\ngonna bang you up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eventually, Poirier allows himself to be handcuffed when other
\npolice officers arrive upon the scene. Before he is escorted away,
\nPoirier offers a fist bump to the initial officer with whom he had
\nthe confrontation.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, pound it,\u201d Poirier said. \u201cYou did a great job. You did what
\nyou could. \u201c<\/p>\n

Poirier was booked into Clayton County Jail for public drunkenness
\non Sunday and released a few hours later. In Georgia, that offense
\nis a misdemeanor that comes with up to a year in jail and a $1,000
\nfine.<\/p>\n

Poirier appeared to briefly address the incident on his Instagram
\nStories on Sunday, writing: \u201cLove you all. I\u2019m working on
\nmyself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Poirier released a lengthier statement, also via Instagram Stories,
\non Tuesday.<\/p>\n

“I’m at the point where I need some help, walking away from
\nfighting hasn’t been easy on me, and alcohol isn’t the answer,”
\nPoirier wrote. “It has ruined my father’s life and I will not allow
\nit to ruin mine, my family deserve me at 100%. I’m trying to do
\neverything I can to get my mind right and take the right
\nsteps.”<\/p>\n

While Ben
\nAskren<\/a> initially shared a video claiming that Poirier was
\nwrestling some of his friends at the airport, it now appears with
\nthe new bodycam video that the retired fighter did more to lead to
\nhis arrest. However, fellow UFC veteran King Green<\/a>
\ncame to Poirier\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n
