Patrick “Patchy” Mix<\/a> will look to end a three-fight losing streak when
\nhe squares off against Shoko Sato<\/a> at
\nRizin
\n54<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Japanese promotion recently announced a handful of bouts for
\nthe Aug. 11 event. Rizin 54 takes place at Toyota Arena Tokyo in
\nTokyo, Japan, and is headlined by a featherweight showdown between
\nKleber
\nKoike Erbst<\/a> and Kyomo Akimoto.<\/p>\n

A former Bellator
\nMMA<\/a> bantamweight champion, Mix was victorious in 20 of his
\nfirst 21 professional outings prior to signing with the
\nUFC<\/a>. The 32-year-old New York native dropped a pair of
\nlackluster decision against Mario
\nBautista<\/a> and Jakub
\nWiklacz<\/a> before being released from the Las Vegas-based
\npromotion. \u201cPatchy\u201d moved to 145 pounds at Rizin 52, where he
\nsuffered his third consecutive setback in a second-round stoppage
\nloss to Kyoma
\nAkimoto<\/a>. He will return to 135 pounds against Sato.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old Sato is a veteran of 58 pro fights dating back to
\n2008. The former ONE
\nChampionship<\/a> and Shooto<\/a>
\ncompetitor has won three of his last four starts and is coming off
\na first-round submission victory against John
\nSweeney<\/a> at Rizin 52.<\/p>\n

“So much respect for Sato but I\u2019m coming back to bantamweight to
\nprove myself. Fully dedicated and with so much vengeance. This
\nstory is far from over and this is how I\u2019ll earn my shot at the
\n[Rizin] bantamweight title,\u201d Mix wrote on social media.<\/p>\n
