\nwas working until I felt my foot when I kicked his shin. Then I
\nfelt my ribs when he hit me with two kicks,\u201d Oliveira told

Oliveira revealed that his corner motivated him to persevere
\nthrough adversity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were yelling, \u2018Go forward, keep attacking, you\u2019re tough.\u2019 At
\nthat moment, a movie played in my head,\u201d Oliveira recalled. \u201cIn my
\nsecond-to-last fight, I had a loss, and since the UFC has been
\nfiring fighters with winning records, I thought about my daughter
\nMait\u00ea and everything I had been through in life, and there, I
\ndecided I wasn\u2019t going to lose. So, even in pain, breathless, I was
\ngoing to keep attacking,\u201d explained the emotional Brazilian while
\nkissing his daughter in his lap.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s something inexplicable. Only a father can understand.
\nEverything I do today is for her well-being, to bring her more
\nsecurity and comfort. Today she is my greatest motivator, without
\nsaying anything, just by existing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ready for Lightweight<\/h2>\n

Oliveira revealed that his body reacted surprisingly well to the
\nnew division.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter those four fainting spells in the last fight, I really
\ncouldn’t continue at bantamweight anymore. The curious thing is
\nthat when I weighed [135 pounds] my body felt it a lot and in the
\ngaining process I fought at [170 pounds] on fight day. In this new
\ncategory, my weight went up less, I weighed [163 pounds] on fight
\nday,\u201d revealed the Brazilian, who hopes to face a ranked opponent
\nin his second fight at featherweight.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt bantamweight I was Top 12, I think I deserve at least a Top 12
\nat featherweight too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite being focused on reaching the belt in the new division,
\nOliveira made it clear that he will have no problem fighting at
\nlightweight in emergency cases.<\/p>\n

When Rafael
\nFiziev<\/a> was injured three weeks before the last UFC event in Rio
\nde Janeiro, \u201cLokDog\u201d offered to face Charles
\nOliveira<\/a> in the main event before Mateusz
\nGamrot<\/a> stepped in.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor over 10 years I haven\u2019t gone two days without training,\u201d he
\nsaid. \u201cI train from Monday to Saturday and sometimes even on
\nSunday, but for the first time I\u2019m going to give my body a week\u2019s
\nrest. But if the UFC needs me, I\u2019ll be available to fight in the
\nlightweight division, against anyone. The harder, the better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Targeting Silva<\/h2>\n

Asked about how he sees a confrontation with the current
\nfeatherweight champion, Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a>, \u201cLokDog\u201d believes he won\u2019t face the
\nAustralian.<\/p>\n

\u201cVolk has already built his history and has nothing left to prove,\u201d
\nOliveira said. When I reach the top, I believe he won\u2019t be the
\nchampion anymore. I think he\u2019ll beat Evloev, but I don\u2019t see him
\nbeating Jean Silva<\/a>,
\nfor example.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oliveira predicts that a matchup with the Fighting Nerds
\nrepresentative would be a war.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor this fight to happen and make sense, it would have to be for
\nthe BMF featherweight belt \u2026 or if Jean had the featherweight belt
\nwhen my turn came,\u201d Oliveira said. \u201cJean is a tough, aggressive guy
\nwho talks a lot, just like me. There would be provocation from all
\nsides, provocation all the time. Inside the cage, the smartest one
\nwould win, because we’re both willing to exchange punches until the
\nend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Explaining Beethoven<\/h2>\n

Unlike most fighters who seek faster and more motivating rhythms in
\ntheir Octagon entrances, the Brazilian always enters his fights
\nwith “F\u00fcr Elise” by Beethoven.<\/p>\n

“If I could, I would enter without any music, because my best
\nthoughts and skills come from nothing, which is where I came from,\u201d
\nOliveira said. \u201cSo the less noise there is, just the sound of my
\nheart and my breathing, the more motivated I become. The quieter,
\nthe better. That’s one of the reasons I chose “F\u00fcr Elise” by
\nBeethoven.”<\/p>\n

Oliveira doesn\u2019t expect do be sidelined for too long before he is
\nready to return to action.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026I want to have the exams done on both feet and my knee tomorrow.
\nI went into this fight with a suspected meniscus injury, but it
\nshouldn’t be anything serious,\u201d he said. \u201cThe fact is MMA fighters
\nhave an expiration date. I\u2019m 30 years old, I want to fight as much
\nas I can and achieve everything by the time I’m 35. First, I want
\nto finally get into the UFC game, I can’t wait to play with my
\navatar, then I want to break all the UFC records, win the belt and
