\none.<\/p>\n
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> this past April, \u201cVivi\u201d now
\nprepares to clash with a nearly irresistible force when she meets
\nfellow
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> alumna Liz
\nCarmouche<\/a> on June 27 at
\nPFL San Diego<\/a>.<\/p>\n
\nThe 16-year veteran holds notable wins over the likes of Jessica
\nAndrade<\/a> and Valentina
\nShevchenko<\/a>, not to mention being on a 12-1 run since 2020.
\nAraujo is keenly aware of the potential risks and rewards. Though
\nno belt is up for grabs this weekend, an emphatic win would most
\nlikely catapult her to title contention.<\/p>\n
\nfor her next opponent: \u201cI have a lot of respect for her. She\u2019s a
\nvery experienced athlete. She\u2019s proven repeatedly that she belongs
\nat the top. She\u2019s a complete fighter. She\u2019s strong and has a ton of
\nexperience in the cage. We can see that she always shows up
\nwell-prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThis will be another great challenge in my career. This is why I
\nfight. I expect to beat her by imposing my rhythm and having an
\nintelligent fight. My biggest objective for San Diego is to have my
\nhand raised at the end, no matter how. It can be a knockout,
\nsubmission, or decision. I\u2019ll show once more that I belong at the
\nhighest level.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThough that\u2019s in the past now, Araujo is thankful for the
\nexperience. \u201cThe most important moment in my career was my arrival
\nto the UFC,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was confirmation of all the hard work I
\nput in over the years, to be among the best in the world. I faced
\nopponents at the highest level. It proved the consistency of my
\nwork. I remained in the top 10. It was a period of high visibility.
\nI was able to show my work to the entire world.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nnew goals. The hunger for victory remains the same. Araujo got
\nready once again at the Cerrado MMA academy, in Brasilia, Brazil\u2019s
\ncapital. The academy has hosted several world-class competitors,
\nfrom Vicente
\nLuque<\/a> and Gilbert
\nBurns<\/a> to the Bonfim brothers, Ismael<\/a> and
\nGabriel<\/a>.
\nOnce again, no stone was left unturned. Training involved general
\nstriking, muay thai, wrestling, no-gi jiu-jitsu, luta livre and
\nboxing, as well as special emphasis on physical conditioning.<\/p>\n
\nstrong,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ll also be very technical, especially
\nregarding strategy. We\u2019re studying my opponent extensively, in all
\nher areas of strength.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nahead. \u201cMy plan is to continue to evolve in the sport. Now that I
\nhave a new home in the PFL, I\u2019m looking forward to fighting and
\nputting on great performances. I like the PFL format. It allows us
\nto fight repeatedly throughout the year. My last fight was in
\nApril. Now I\u2019m back in June. It\u2019s a small time gap, so I managed to
\nremain focused. I\u2019m enjoying the opportunity to fight more often.
\nMy objective is to capture the PFL belt, stay active, and keep my
