At 32 years of age, Ariane
\nLipski da Silva<\/a> is now fully committed to the third major stage
\nin her professional mixed martial arts career.<\/p>\n

After showing great promise in the local Brazilian scene, the
\ninvitation came to join Poland\u2019s famed
\nKonfrontacja Sztuk Walki<\/a> promotion. In the KSW, not only did
\nshe win their flyweight belt, she went on to defend it twice.<\/p>\n

After years of UFC setbacks, Lipski believes best is to
\ncome<\/h2>\n

The
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> came calling in 2018, but a
\nreported foot injury by booked opponent Maryna
\nMoroz<\/a> meant that her actual debut wouldn\u2019t take place until the
\nfollowing year. In hindsight, it may have been an omen of things to come. Her
\nOctagon tenure may hold some sort of record to the highest
\npercentage of canceled bouts or opponent changes. In under 7 years,
\nda Silva racked up a record of 6-8, with nine matchups being either
\ncanceled or postponed. Twice, da Silva could not compete. Seven
\nother cancellations took place due to a laundry list of things
\nyou\u2019d hope won\u2019t happen to an MMA opponent, including but not
\nlimited to injuries, illnesses, failed PED tests and travel
\nrestrictions.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo a certain extent, the opponent changes always had an effect.
\nBut I wouldn\u2019t blame my losses on that,\u201d da Silva told
\nSherdog.com.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor some bouts, I wasn\u2019t physically well. I still accepted those
\nchallenges, believing I could still win. At other times, I wasn\u2019t
\nmentally well. And I still believed I\u2019d get the win. And there were
\ntimes where everything, physical and mental, felt perfect but once
\nI was in the fight, my body wasn\u2019t reacting correctly. All were
\nlessons to be learned. It takes experience to truly understand how
\none\u2019s body works, and to consistently translate training into
\npositive results. Lessons were learned so I could come back even
\nstronger.\u201d<\/p>\n

From UFC frustration to PFL contender: Lipski believes time has
\narrived<\/h2>\n

Now, after beating dangerous Hawaiian Sumiko
\nInaba<\/a> in her
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> debut this past March, da Silva
\nhopes that third time is the charm.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, I was happy with that win, though I would have
\npreferred to get a finish. I came close on the second round, when I
\nknocked my opponent down. I lacked the techniques for finishing the
\nfight at that moment. But I came back to my academy and trained for
\nthat scenario. I find ways to evolve from every fight, though I
\nalways feel I have more to learn, even after a win. Now, I\u2019m
\ngetting ready for Jena
\nBishop<\/a>. I know she has very good jiu-jitsu. I\u2019m putting myself
\nin situations so I\u2019ll know how my body should react. It\u2019s a clash
\nof styles \u2013 striker versus grappler. My jiu-jitsu level is better
\nthan her striking level. As such, I feel I\u2019m at an advantage. My
\nexperience, physical strength, and standup technique will make the
\ndifference. I\u2019m constantly improving my ground skills. I\u2019m looking
\nforward to an excellent performance against Bishop on
\nSaturday.\u201d<\/p>\n

The preparation for grappling ace Bishop, same as before, took
\nplace at Florida\u2019s
\nAmerican Top Team<\/a>. It\u2019s been da Silva\u2019s MMA home since
\n2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still have the same training format. My head coach is my
\nhusband, Renato
\nSilva<\/a> He coordinates my strategy as well as my work with other
\ncoaches and training partners. My jiu-jitsu coach is Vagner
\nRocha<\/a> and Desmond
\nMoore<\/a> takes care of my wrestling. We\u2019ve been working this way
\nsince I joined American Top Team. It\u2019s how I train best — a camp
\nfocused on me with my team helping simulate my opponents.\u201d<\/p>\n

A more mature da Silva\u2019s has lofty goals for this third major
\nstage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always fully focused on my next opponent. Of course, it\u2019s also
\nimportant to make longer-term plans within the organization. I
\nbelieve our weight class is still a bit scrambled. We don\u2019t have a
\nchampion. A flyweight belt is not yet up for dispute, though I\u2019m
\nconfident that an excellent performance against Jena Bishop will
