\nIsbulaev<\/a> his first career defeat, taking home a unanimous
\ndecision triumph in the
\nPFL San Diego<\/a> headliner at Pechanga Arena on Saturday night.
\nMcKee (25-2, 4-1 PFL), who enjoyed a brief reign as Bellator
\nMMA<\/a> featherweight champion in 2021, is 3-0 since returning to
\nthe division where he made his name.<\/p>\n
\nPFL) appeared more than eager to engage with his veteran adversary.
\nHowever, McKee was able to weather the initial burst and drag his
\nfinish-minded foe, who had only once gone beyond the first round,
\ninto deep waters. \u201cMercenary\u201d was especially effective with his
\ngrappling, landing takedowns in each frame and scrambling
\neffectively to dominant positions. After cutting Isbulaev near his
\neye with an elbow from top position near the end of Round 2, McKee
\nput a lasting stamp on his victory with an onslaught of elbows,
\npunches and hammerfists from full mount in the waning seconds of
\nthe final period.<\/p>\n
\nAraujo<\/a> had no answers for the considerable squeeze of the
\n\u201cGirl-Rilla.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nCarmouche<\/a> (25-8, 6-1) made a strong case for a shot at the
\nvacant flyweight strap, as she
\nsubmitted her Brazilian foe with a guillotine choke<\/a><\/strong>
\n2:07 into Round 2. It was the first time a fight involving Araujo
\n(14-8, 1-1 PFL) ended inside the distance since May 2019.
\nCarmouche, the 2025
\nPFL<\/a> flyweight champion, has won four consecutive outings within
\nthe promotion.<\/p>\n
\ndefending against Araujo\u2019s advances in the clinch, though she did
\nturn the tide with a pair of takedowns late in the frame. When
\nAraujo shot for a takedown in the second stanza, Carmouche seized
\nher opportunity, quickly jumping guard with the fight-ending
\nmaneuver in place. Araujo could only resist for a few seconds
\nbefore asking out of the fight \u2014 suffering the first submission
\ndefeat of her professional tenure.<\/p>\n
\n
Elsewhere, a disciplined and technical approach carried Alexandr
\nShabliy<\/a> (25-4, 1-0 PFL) to a clear-cut unanimous decision
\ntriumph over 2025 PFL tournament champion Alfie Davis<\/a>
\n(20-7-1, 3-2 PFL) in a lightweight tilt. All three cageside judges
\nsubmitted tallies in favor of the Russian: 30-27, 30-27 and 30-27.
\nIt was Shabliy\u2019s first appearance since a loss to Usman
\nNurmagomedov<\/a> in a lightweight title bout under the Bellator
\nbanner in September 2024.<\/p>\n
\ncrisp counters while occasionally blending in timely takedowns to
\nkeep his foe off balance. His best moment came in Round 2, when he
\nbuckled Davis with a left hook following a failed spinning attack
\nfrom the Brit. If Shabliy had more time, he might have been able to
\nend the bout there, but a reeling Davis was saved by the bell. It
\nwas more of the same for Shabliy in Round 3, as he repeatedly beat
\nDavis to the punch while deftly moving out of danger when his
\nopponent attempted to answer.<\/p>\n
\nWilkinson<\/a> (20-5, 1 NC, 7-3 PFL) survived an early Abraham
\nBably<\/a> (8-3, 3-3) surge to give his opponent a rude welcome to
\nthe light heavyweight division.
\nA series of unanswered left hands on the canvas<\/a><\/strong>
\nbrought a halt to the contest 3:23 into Round 2, ending a
\nthree-bout skid for Wilkinson in the process.<\/p>\n
\nhis heels in the opening period by pressuring and winging power
\npunches. When a finish didn\u2019t arrive, \u201cOne and Only\u201d also dictated
\nthe action in the clinch. However, after having stopped his
\nprevious three foes inside of a round, Bably\u2019s gas tank waned in
\nthe second stanza. Wilkinson began to seize control for good when
\nhe defended a Bably takedown while landing a series of unanswered
\npunches and elbows to the side of the head. The two-time UFC
\nveteran then secured a rear body lock and powered his adversary
\nface-first to the canvas. From there, Wilkinson teed off with the
\nfinal salvo until referee Blake Grice<\/a>
\ndecided he had seen enough.<\/p>\n
