\nBelgrade<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Rodriguez (20-5) is set to fight Uros Medic<\/a>
\n(13-3) in a welterweight bout at UFC Belgrade on Aug. 1. \u201cD-Rod\u201d
\nrecently revealed that he was originally rallying for a booking
\nagainst Edwards at UFC 329<\/a>
\nduring International Fight Week. However, Rodriguez believes
\nEdwards was not keen on the matchup. Rodriguez plans to continue
\nthe pursuit by calling out \u201cRocky\u201d if he beats Medic at UFC
\nBelgrade.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted the fight; we asked for the fight,\u201d Rodriguez told Home
\nof Fight. \u201cI guess on his end, they were leaning towards another
\ndirection. That would\u2019ve been crazy to have fought on the
\nInternational Fight Week card. But I got a better opportunity.
\nAnother tough matchup as well. We\u2019ll see; we\u2019ll definitely be
\ncalling him out after.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Rodriguez is currently on a three-fight winning streak, he
\nhasn\u2019t fought since July 2025, as he was arrested in Mexico last
\nyear. Rodriguez was released this past April after spending eight
\nmonths in a jail in Tijuana, Mexico, for crossing the border with
\nweed. Meanwhile, Edwards (22-6) is currently on a three-fight
\nslump, starting with his title loss to Belal
\nMuhammad<\/a> in 2024. The Englishman hasn\u2019t fought since a brutal
\nstoppage loss against Carlos
\nPrates<\/a> this past November. <\/p>\n
