\nafter the fourth round. While Gaethje finally captured gold in his
\nthird crack at the crown, Topuria suffered his first career

Ilia Topuria\u2019s first UFC loss and Jon Jones\u2019 comeback
\nadvice<\/h2>\n

Jones, who is essentially undefeated with his lone career loss
\nbeing a controversial disqualification, believes Topuria can come
\nback stronger from the defeat. \u201cBones\u201d claims to have heard that
\nthe former two-division champion is humble and honest in defeat,
\nand believes acknowledging one’s own mistakes instead of making
\nexcuses is the key to returning from a loss.<\/p>\n

Jones told Red Corner MMA: \u201cIlia\u2019s gonna be in a good position. He
\nhas faith. He has a strong team. And that\u2019s a lot of what it takes.
\nHe has a work ethic. I think he\u2019s honest with himself\u2026 What I heard
\nwas that he\u2019s humble. That he\u2019s honest. That he realized that he
\njust didn\u2019t perform well. I think that\u2019s the number one step of
\ngetting back into the ring in a healthy way. It\u2019s the guys who make
\nexcuses, that\u2019s when it\u2019s hard to come back and win that rematch\u2026
\nHonesty with yourself is the key to MMA.\u201d<\/p>\n

What adds to the weight of Topuria\u2019s loss are his pre-fight antics.
\nTopuria had repeatedly predicted a first-round knockout win,
\nchanged his record on his social media bio, and even celebrated a
\nday before the fight, traditions he might opt against going
\nforward.<\/p>\n
