Joe
\nLauzon<\/a> doesn\u2019t know the details of his
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> contract despite signing with
\nBKFC.<\/p>\n

Lauzon (28-15) is scheduled to make his BKFC debut on Aug. 29 at
\nFenway Park in Boston, the iconic home of Major League Baseball\u2019s
\nRed Sox franchise. Lauzon\u2019s opponent is yet to be determined.<\/p>\n

Lauzon recently detailed his conversation with UFC executive Hunter
\nCampbell about signing with BKFC. While Lauzon hasn\u2019t fought since
\n2019, his contract with the UFC hasn\u2019t officially expired. The UFC
\nhas now written a letter allowing Lauzon to compete in BKFC.
\nHowever, despite signing a multi-fight contract with the BKFC,
\nLauzon isn\u2019t sure if he is officially out of his UFC contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cI emailed the UFC, I\u2019m like, \u2018What\u2019s the status of my
\ncontract?\u2019… I think they didn\u2019t cut me out of respect more than
\nanything,\u201d Lauzon told MMA Fighting<\/a>. \u201cI talked to Hunter on the
\nphone and told him what I wanna do. He\u2019s like, \u2018We love you. Every
\ntime you come out, everyone has good things to say about it. Sean
\nShelby doesn\u2019t say good things about anybody, but Sean loves
\nyou.\u2019… They said they\u2019re gonna send a letter to me and the BKFC\u2026
\nHunter\u2019s text was kind of very specific, like, \u2018You are free to go
\ndo BKFC on the Fenway card.\u2019 But I don\u2019t know if that means I\u2019m
\nfully released or what.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lauzon went 15-12 in his UFC career spanning over more than a
\ndecade. \u201cJ-Lau\u201d still holds the record for third most finishes in
\nUFC lightweight history (13).<\/p>\n
