Tracy
\nCortez<\/a> believes her move to Mexico City has made her a better
\nathlete.<\/p>\n

Cortez is scheduled to fight Cong Wang<\/a> at
\nUFC
\n329<\/a> 9 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Cortez\u2019s
\nlongtime coach Santino
\nDefranco<\/a> retired from coaching following her loss against
\nErin
\nBlanchfield<\/a> this past November. Cortez subsequently parted ways
\nwith the
\nFight Ready<\/a> gym in Scottsdale, Arizona. Cortez has since moved
\nto Mexico City to train at the UFC Performance Institute for her
\nupcoming bout.<\/p>\n

Cortez claims she is still on good terms with the Fight Ready team.
\nHowever, the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> flyweight believes she outgrew
\nthem, fuelling her move to Mexico City. The move has not only
\nhelped Cortez develop as an athlete, but also helped her connect
\ndeeper to her Mexican roots.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I know I\u2019m on good terms with them, but I just felt
\nlike I outgrew them\u2026 It’s just one of those things where, for me to
\ngrow not just as a person but as an athlete, I do have to explore,
\nand I have to go outside of my comfort zone, and I was very
\ncomfortable at Fight Ready for many years,\u201d Cortez
\ntold Danny Segura<\/a>. \u201cIt’s just one of those things where, to
\ngrow, to evolve, I mean Fight Ready was all I knew. So I parted
\nways, and again, coming here to Mexico City, I think I’ve grown so
\nmuch as a person, a Mexican woman, and as a professional
\nathlete.\u201d<\/p>\n

After going unbeaten in her first five UFC outings, Cortez (12-3)
\nhas now dropped two of her last three, albeit against elite
\nopponents in Rose
\nNamajunas<\/a> and Blanchfield. Meanwhile, Wang (9-1), who boasts a
\nkickboxing win over Valentina
