Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> isn\u2019t ruling out a return to the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Poirier (30-10) called it a career last year following a loss to
\nMax
\nHolloway<\/a>. While \u201cThe Diamond\u201d never tasted undisputed UFC gold
\ndespite three bids, he enjoyed a memorable run in the lightweight
\ndivision. The former interim champion recently admitted that he\u2019s
\nstill open to a return to the Octagon for a lucrative fight.<\/p>\n

Dustin Poirier isn’t done yet\u2014and he already has two dream
\nopponents<\/h2>\n

Poirier\u2019s former foe, Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a>, returns to action after a five-year hiatus against
\nHolloway at
\nUFC 329<\/a> on July 11. McGregor hasn\u2019t fought since breaking his
\nleg in a trilogy loss against \u201cThe Diamond\u201d back in 2021.<\/p>\n

The American is open to ending his retirement to fight McGregor for
\na fourth time and would also consider returning for a bout against
\nNate
\nDiaz<\/a>. Poirier vs. Diaz never came to fruition despite nearly
\nmaterializing previously. Furthermore, while Poirier is 1-1 against
\ncurrent lightweight champion Justin
\nGaethje<\/a>, he believes they are both too dangerous for each
\nother.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still under contract with the UFC. There\u2019s definitely a
\nchance; if it\u2019s the right fight, I\u2019ll come back for sure,\u201d Poirier
\nsaid in an interview with One on One MMA. \u201cI\u2019d probably fight Conor
\nif that came about. Nate Diaz, I wanna whoop his a** for years and
\nyears; we never got to fight\u2026 Me and Gaethje are one and one. We
\nboth know it\u2019s gonna be a head-on collision. We kind of shook hands
\nlike, \u2018Let\u2019s not do that to our families again.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Poirier has repeatedly admitted that he misses fighting and finds
\nit difficult to adjust to retirement. He was recently arrested at
\nan airport for threatening to fight a police officer while
\nintoxicated. He also called the officer an offensive racial
\nslur.<\/p>\n
