\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> event.<\/p>\n

St. Denis is set to take on Paddy
\nPimblett<\/a> in a lightweight bout in the co-main event of
\nUFC 329<\/a> at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 11.
\nHawk-eyed fans recently noticed a small scar on the Frenchman\u2019s
\nright foot in training videos. This instantly sparked speculation
\nof a staph infection, which could potentially lead to the
\ncancellation of the fight.<\/p>\n

Benoit St. Denis shuts down staph rumors before Paddy Pimblett
\nclash<\/h2>\n

St. Denis has assured fans that he doesn\u2019t have a staph infection.
\n\u201cGod of War\u201d claims the mark of his foot is merely a scab, which is
\npretty common. He told RMC Sport Combat:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, not at all, I don\u2019t have staph. Everything happens very
\nquickly on social media; it\u2019s crazy. I did have a scab on my foot,
\nyes, but it\u2019s not staph. That\u2019s all it was. These are things that
\ncan happen. But the camp was managed very well. The fatigue was
\nmanaged very well too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Notably, this isn’t the first time St. Denis has faced rumors of
\ncarrying a staph infection into a fight, as this previously
\nhappened in the lead-up to his bout against Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> back in 2024. Staph infections mostly lead to fight
\ncancellations as they are contagious. They can also become very
\nserious, like it did with Robert
\nWhittaker<\/a> in 2018, spreading to his stomach.<\/p>\n

St. Denis (17-3) is currently riding a four-fight winning streak,
\nall via finishes. Meanwhile, Pimblett (23-4) is coming off a loss
\nto Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> in an interim title fight, which snapped the
\nEnglishman\u2019s seven-fight win streak in the UFC.<\/p>\n
