We now have a date for the Ultimate Fighting Championship<\/a>\u2019s next Noche UFC
\nshow.<\/p>\n

Per
\nMMA Junkie<\/a> on Tuesday, the organization is putting together a
\ntop-10 heavyweight contest pitting Waldo
\nCortes-Acosta<\/a> (17-3) against Curtis
\nBlaydes<\/a> (19-6, 1 NC). The two will tangle at Noche
\nUFC 4<\/a>, possibly also UFC 331, on Sept. 19 at a destination
\nstill to be determined. This pairing has since been confirmed by
\n
\nother outlets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Details still loom regarding UFC 331, Noche UFC dates and
\nlocations<\/h2>\n

There remains ample confusion as to the scheduling of this Noche
\nUFC 4 card, as the date of Sept. 19 is also reported to be UFC 331.
\nIt is possible that fights on this billing and\/or the Sept. 12 show
\nslated for Arizona could shift around depending on the nature of
\nthe Noche UFC 4 celebration. Early reports indicated this event
\ncould be held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, but that
\nhas yet to be confirmed. Only one other bout is set for this
\nbilling, a bantamweight brawl as Charles
\nJourdain<\/a> takes on Marlon
\nVera<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A mighty heavyweight campaign for Cortes-Acosta in 2025 saw him
\ncompete five times in the calendar year, winning four of those five
\nwhile scoring three knockouts along the way. This year also started
\nswimmingly for the Dominican, as he punched out Derrick
\nLewis<\/a> at UFC 324 to push his win streak to three. When meeting
\nAlexander
\nVolkov<\/a> for a de facto title eliminator match in May,
\nCortes-Acosta fell short to the Russian on the scorecards. After 13
\nbouts in his UFC career, \u201cSalsa Boy\u201d has
\nalready reached the top 10<\/a> for the most significant strikes
\nlanded in modern heavyweight history.<\/p>\n

While Cortes-Acosta has been racking up striking totals to get his
\nname added to that leaderboard, Blaydes has done so as well in a
\nvariety of context. Notably, the next person above the former
\nbaseball pitcher on the aforementioned sig. strike total list is
\nBlaydes, having notched 50 more than his adversary. Additionally,
\nBlaydes is the division\u2019s all-time leader in takedowns landed by a
\ncountry mile, with the next active fighter of Serghei
\nSpivac<\/a> holding less than half of Blaydes\u2019 total, 32 to 66. Like
\nthe Dominican, \u201cRazor\u201d is coming off a loss, albeit a \u201cFight of the
\nYear\u201d-worthy brawl against Josh Hokit<\/a>
\nin April.<\/p>\n
