Bucking a trend that has become beyond familiar to those that watch
\nthe
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> on Paramount+ in the U.S.,
\nDustin
\nPoirier<\/a> was not featured in Bud Light\u2019s commercials during
\n
\nUFC 329<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Poirier (30-10) was recently arrested at Hartsfield\u2013Jackson Atlanta
\nInternational Airport for public drunkenness. The former UFC
\ninterim lightweight champion threatened to fight and used a racial
\nslur directed at a police officer after being denied permission to
\nboard his flight for being intoxicated. He has been charged with a
\nmisdemeanor and is currently out on bail.<\/p>\n

Poirier subsequently opened up about his mental issues while
\naddressing the incident. \u201cThe Diamond\u201d also revealed that he lost a
\nmajor sponsor and several business deals in the aftermath of his
\narrest. There were also rumors of Bud Light canceling Poirier\u2019s
\nsponsorship.<\/p>\n

While Poirier\u2019s official sponsorship status with Bud Light is
\nunknown, he wasn\u2019t in its latest commercial, which aired during the
\nUFC 329 broadcast and featured only Bruce Buffer, unlike previous
\nad spots from the beverage brand.<\/p>\n

Sean
\nStrickland<\/a> had initially criticized Poirier\u2019s mental health
\nstruggles. However, Strickland then apologized to the UFC
\nfan-favorite after claiming to have talked with him and learned
\nmore about his mental state. The former middleweight champion had
\nalso warned Bud Light against dropping Poirier\u2019s sponsorship.<\/p>\n
