Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> continues teasing a return to the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Poirier hung up his gloves following a loss to Max
\nHolloway<\/a> last year. \u201cThe Diamond\u201d has since repeatedly admitted
\nthat he dearly misses fighting. He even says he would consider
\nreturning to the Octagon for the right matchup.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Poirier\u2019s former rival Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a> returned to the Octagon after five years against
\nHolloway at
\nUFC 329<\/a> in Las Vegas. The fight ended in a first-round stoppage
\nloss for McGregor after he blew out his knee throwing a jumping
\nhead kick.<\/p>\n

Dustin Poirier says a welterweight fight with Conor McGregor
\ncould bring him back to the UFC<\/h2>\n

While McGregor claims he intends to complete the last fight
\nremaining on his UFC contract, Poirier is willing to end his
\nretirement for a fourth outing against the Dubliner. Furthermore,
\nPoirier is also open to moving up to welterweight to fight
\nMcGregor, as their previous bouts were at featherweight and
\nlightweight.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever he is healed up, hit me up, Conor,\u201d Poirier said on the
\nUFC\u2019s \u201cDeep Waters\u201d podcast. \u201cI’ll come back and whip you again. I
\nwould come back to whip him again. At 170.\u201d<\/p>\n

Poirier (30-10) suffered a first-round stoppage loss against
\nMcGregor (22-7) in their first outing, at featherweight, in 2014.
\nHe exacted revenge by knocking out McGregor in their lightweight
\nrematch in 2021. The two met in a rubber match later that year,
\nwhere McGregor broke his leg, leading to a stoppage loss.<\/p>\n

While McGregor was sidelined since then, Poirier went 2-4 against
\nelite opponents, also making two failed bids for the lightweight
\ntitle before retiring.<\/p>\n
