Demetrious
\nJohnson<\/a> has no regrets about walking away from mixed martial
\narts.<\/p>\n

Unlike many fighters who continue competing well past their prime,
\nthe former
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> and One
\nChampionship<\/a> titleholder retired on his own terms after
\ndefending his One title in 2023. “Mighty Mouse” recently claimed
\nthat the transition has been easier because he never allowed fame
\nto define him.<\/p>\n

Demetrious Johnson discusses UFC Hall of Fame induction and MMA
\nretirement<\/h2>\n

Johnson (25-4-1) is content with his career and retirement.
\nSpeaking on the UFC Hall of Fame red carpet, the new inductee
\nrevealed that having humility and staying humble served him well in
\nthe long run.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think for me, probably because my whole career, I’ve stayed
\nhumble and had humility. You know, I never let the lights get to
\nme.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson then recalled winning the UFC flyweight title at UFC
\n152<\/a> before quickly returning to everyday life.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter I’ll have a big amazing fight — I’ll never forget after I
\nwon at UFC 152, became a champion, I was on the couch. I was doing
\nan interview; I think it was AXS TV HD Fight Net with Kenny
\nFlorian<\/a> and Bas Rutten<\/a>,\u201d he
\nsaid. \u201cThey were like, \u2018What are you doing with all the money?\u2019 I
\nwas like, \u2018I put it in the bank. I got to mow the lawn. I’ll chat
\nwith you guys later,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Johnson captured the inaugural UFC flyweight title in 2012 before
\nsetting a promotional record with 11 consecutive title defenses. He
\nthen emerged as one of the biggest stars in One Championship before
\nretiring. Now a member of the UFC Hall of Fame’s Modern Wing,
\nJohnson doesn\u2019t see any fight worth pursuing and wants to challenge
\nhis mind instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, I was like, I felt like I’ve done everything. I don’t know
\nwhat else is left to do,\u201d he added. \u201cLet me go challenge myself
\nwith my intellect, and see if I can provide for my family in that
\nway.\u201d<\/p>\n
