\nconfidence will play a key role in a rematch against Tom
\nAspinall<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gane (14-2) challenged Aspinall (15-3) for the heavyweight title in
\ntheir first meeting at UFC 321<\/a>
\nlast October. However, the fight ended in an unfortunate no-contest
\nafter a double eye poke by Gane in the first round rendered
\nAspinall unable to continue.<\/p>\n

While Aspinall subsequently underwent eye surgery, Gane defeated
\nAlex
\nPereira<\/a> to win the interim heavyweight title at
\nUFC Freedom 250<\/a>. “Bon Gamin” is now expected to challenge
\nAspinall in a title unification bout next and Jones believes the
\nFrenchman will come out on top.<\/p>\n

According to Jones, Gane\u2019s confidence is soaring after his win over
\nPereira. The former champion also notes that Aspinall was looking
\ninvincible until he faced Gane at UFC 321. Notably, many, including
\nUFC CEO Dana
\nWhite<\/a>, opined that the two-time interim champion was winning
\nthe fight as long as it lasted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe Gane\u2019s going to win,\u201d Jones told Ring Magazine. \u201cWhen
\nyou become the champion and you beat a man like Alex Pereira, it
\nhas to do something for your confidence. Even in Gane\u2019s first fight
\nwith Tom Aspinall, Tom was looking pretty invincible until Ciryl
\nGane. And most people feel like Gane was winning that fight. I feel
\nlike Gane\u2019s confidence has to be at an all-time high.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones returned to the Octagon after three years against Gane in
\n2023, with the vacant heavyweight title on the line. “Bones” made
\nquick work of the French heavyweight with a guillotine choke in the
\nvery first round. Meanwhile, the American has a contentious
\nrelationship with Aspinall, with the duo going back and forth
\nrepeatedly before Jones ultimately vacated the belt.<\/p>\n
