Alex Pereira criticizes Herb Dean\u2019s officiating after Michel
\nPereira\u2019s UFC departure<\/h2>\n

Michel had fought out his previous contract with the UFC and was
\noffered a one-fight deal to take on Magomedov in the UFC Baku
\nco-headliner, which he lost. Dean\u2019s inaction towards the Russian\u2019s
\nrepeated fouls has drawn the ire of the former two-division
\nchampion, who voiced his frustration in a lengthy Instagram
\npost.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey could have released him earlier, and maybe that would have
\nbeen understandable,\u201d he wrote. \u201cBut making someone pay such a high
\nprice because of a refereeing mistake is unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he didn\u2019t specifically name-drop Dean, unlike his comments
\nfollowing his controversial loss to Gane at
\nUFC Freedom 250<\/a>, the former Glory Kickboxing champion
\nhighlighted that a fighter\u2019s career can get derailed or
\nsignificantly damaged by a referee\u2019s incompetence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe UFC has always done everything I’ve asked within the
\norganization’s reach, but it’s sad to see something like this and
\nnot be upset,\u201d he continued. \u201cA lot of fighters stay quiet, but
\ntomorrow it could be you going through the same situation. And when
\nthat happens, don’t message me asking for help. It’s sad that even
\nthe UFC doesn’t have control over situations like this, and that’s
\nwhat ends up damaging our sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

“Demolidor” was among the most exciting fighters on the roster
\nduring his welterweight run, but a subsequent move up to
\nmiddleweight, adoption of a more conservative fighting style and
\ninconsistent results saw his hype come to a screeching halt. He
