\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> career at
\nUFC Oklahoma City<\/a>, where he beat former title challenger
\nJared
\nCannonier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Duncan extended his winning streak to five with a unanimous
\ndecision victory over Cannonier to further ascend the rankings. The
\nEnglishman landed several significant strikes against the
\n42-year-old veteran, who managed to make it all three rounds.<\/p>\n

Christian Leroy Duncan\u2019s UFC Oklahoma City victory over Jared
\nCannonier strengthens his middleweight contender case<\/h2>\n

Duncan put on a show with his striking arsenal in the UFC Oklahoma
\nCity co-main event and was especially effective with his spinning
\nattacks, dropping Cannonier and rocking the American a few
\ntimes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew Cannonier was tough, but for him to take some of the shots
\nand keep fighting, it surprised me,\u201d Duncan said in a post-fight
\ninterview, praising his counterpart’s ability to absorb heavy
\nshots. \u201cHe\u2019s called ‘The Gorilla’ for a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

With a win over a former UFC title challenger now under his belt,
\nDuncan believes his win streak warrants some big matchups next,
\nideally in the divisional Top 10.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that solidifies my place in the middleweight division,\u201d he
\nadded. \u201cPotentially a single digit next to the name, and some big
\nfights ahead and big names.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former
\nCage Warriors<\/a> champion\u2019s win streak comprises victories over
\nAndrey
\nPulyaev<\/a>, Eryk Anders<\/a>,
\nMarco
\nTulio<\/a>, Roman
\nDolidze<\/a> and now Cannonier, with his UFC record standing at 8-2
\nafter going 3-2 in his first five Octagon appearances.<\/p>\n
