Damian
\nPinas<\/a> continues to generate buzz following his latest knockout
\nvictory in the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> and
\nNova Uniao<\/a> head coach Andre
\nPederneiras<\/a> believes the surging middleweight is unlike anyone
\nhe has coached before.<\/p>\n

Pinas bagged another UFC victory with a first-round knockout of
\nCesar
\nAlmeida<\/a> at
\nUFC 329<\/a>. The Aruba native has now recorded nine knockouts in 10
\nprofessional victories, with one submission.<\/p>\n

Andre Pederneiras discusses Damian Pinas after UFC 329

Pederneiras, who has spent more than three decades developing elite
\nmixed martial artists, told Sherdog\u2019s Marcelo Alonso that he
\nimmediately recognized Pinas’ potential when he arrived at Nova
\nUniao for a tryout in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve held pads for a lot of heavyweights, including elite
\nstrikers, and I’ve never seen anyone hit as hard as he does,\u201d
\nPederneiras said. \u201cRight away I realized he was a special talent,
\nand from that moment on he started training with us … Besides
\nbeing incredibly strong, he learns extremely fast. He’s already
\nsubmitting black belts during our no-gi training sessions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his rapid ascent, Pinas has insisted he is not rushing
\ntoward title contention.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I joined Shooto<\/a>, I said
\nit would take me five years to reach the UFC, but I made it in
\nthree,\u201d Pinas said. \u201cSo, let’s say five years to win the belt
\nsounds good. I’m only 24 years old — I have plenty of time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pinas also told Sherdog that beyond hopes of a championship, he
\nwants to inspire children throughout Aruba, Suriname and the
