\nMcGregor<\/a> haven\u2019t gone over well with Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a>‘s camp.<\/p>\n

After “The Future” compared his upcoming fight in the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> against Makhachev to McGregor’s
\niconic featherweight championship victory over Jose Aldo<\/a>,
\nMakhachev’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, responded with a series of
\nsharp posts on social media.<\/p>\n

Ali Abdelaziz addresses Ian Garry\u2019s McGregor comparison ahead
\nof UFC 330<\/h2>\n

Garry recently claimed that defeating Makhachev at UFC
\n330<\/a> would elevate him to the top of the sport, comparing the
\nopportunity to McGregor’s featherweight title win over Aldo in
\n2015.<\/p>\n

Abdelaziz, however, dismissed those comparisons and questioned the
\nIrishman’s accomplishments inside the Octagon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve been listening to Islam’s opponent talking,\u201d Abdelaziz wrote
\non X. \u201cHere are the facts: He’s 2-1 in his last three fights. He
\nwas almost knocked out by Prates and got saved by the bell. He has
\n10 wins in the UFC, and eight of them came by decision. Somebody
\nneeds to give this young man a reality check, because he’s about to
\nget smashed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abdelaziz followed with another post highlighting Makhachev’s
\naccolades.<\/p>\n

\u201cIslam Makhachev’s last 10 fights? Eight of them ended in
\nfinishes,\u201d the manager posted. \u201cThree of those wins came against
\nworld champions. The rest were against top-five and Top-15
\ncontenders. That’s the reality. You only got this fight because you
\nknow how to talk. On Aug. 14, the talking stops. Then we’ll see
\nwhat’s real.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abdelaziz also rejected Garry’s comparisons to McGregor.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he keeps bringing his name up, comparing himself to Conor,\u201d he
\nadded. \u201cFirst of all, you\u2019re not Conor. You\u2019ll never be Conor. You
\nmight actually be a better person than him, because I think Conor
\nhas done a lot of things I don\u2019t respect. Just be who you are.
\nDon\u2019t try to be somebody else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Makhachev is scheduled to defend his welterweight title against
\nGarry in the UFC 330 main event on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena
\nin Philadelphia. A win for the Russian not only marks his first
\ntitle defense at 170 pounds but would also see him break Anderson
\nSilva<\/a>\u2019s record for longest win streak in UFC history.<\/p>\n
