Jessica
\nAndrade<\/a> is not above working a regular job to make ends
\nmeet.<\/p>\n

The former
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> strawweight titleholder has been
\nsidelined for nearly a year while recovering from a shoulder
\ninjury. During her hiatus from competition, the Brazilian has
\nturned to working as a delivery driver.<\/p>\n

Jessica Andrade explains why she’s working as a delivery driver
\nduring her UFC injury layoff<\/h2>\n

Andrade, who has fought 30 times in the UFC, winning the 115-pound
\ntitle and also challenging for the flyweight belt, has been away
\nfrom action for almost a year now. However, it hasn\u2019t stopped her
\nfrom finding alternate paths of income.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank God I managed to save some money, so things are going well,\u201d
\nAndrade said in an interview with Ag Fight. \u201cBut whenever I need
\nto, I work as a delivery driver. I deliver meals and things like
\nthat. I just pick up orders through an app and make the deliveries.
\nI do whatever it takes. I\u2019m not afraid of hard work. I can do just
\nabout anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also took up another project recently, helping a friend
\nrenovate their house.<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently I started a project at [a friend\u2019s] house, installing
\nartificial turf,\u201d she said. \u201cHer backyard was nothing but rocks. I
\nwent there and removed all the rocks from the ground. I thought,
\n\u2018I\u2019ll give this a try. If I\u2019m good at it, it\u2019s one more way we can
\nmake some extra money whenever we need it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrade has spoken publicly about financial struggles before. In
\n2018, she revealed that she sold UFC memorabilia to help make ends
\nmeet. She also disclosed that her former management failed to pay
\ntaxes owed from several of her 2023 bouts.<\/p>\n

While Andrade has yet to lock in her next fight, she remains
\nfocused on her rehabilitation as she works towards her Octagon
\nreturn.<\/p>\n
