Rose
\nNamajunas<\/a> wants to rediscover her motivation before returning
\nto competition in the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old admitted during a recent podcast appearance that
\nshe has spent the past few months evaluating her future after
\nmultiple disappointing results and the lengthy recovery from
\ninjuries sustained in her last bout.<\/p>\n

Rose Namajunas discusses injuries, recent losses and her UFC
\nfuture<\/h2>\n

Namajunas still intends to fight again, but she wants to make sure
\nshe has the right reason for returning. The former strawweight
\nchampion lost to Natalia
\nSilva<\/a> at
\nUFC 324<\/a> in January and had to undergo surgery shortly after her
\nfight with Silva to repair damage caused by an accidental eye
\npoke.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was like a three-month process,\u201d Namajunas said on the “Weighing In” podcast. \u201cAfter the fight, I had to get this surgery
\nright away. They put this weird silicone tube in my eye. It was a
\nreally easy surgery, though. It was just kind of uncomfortable. I
\ncouldn\u2019t blow my nose. I couldn\u2019t rub my eye because it could pop
\nout, so I had to be off — no contact training for three
\nmonths.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also revealed that she suffered a torn ulnar collateral
\nligament in her thumb during the recovery process. Namajunas was
\nfinally cleared to resume training in April, but has yet to
\nschedule her next bout. The aforementioned setbacks have left her
\ncontemplating her future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019ve been sitting out for a while because I\u2019m trying to
\nrediscover, OK, what am I doing now?\u201d Namajunas added. \u201cThe last
\nthree opportunities that I had — the Natalia fight, the Erin
\nBlanchfield<\/a> fight and the Manon
\n[Fiorot]<\/a> fight — I was told that I would get a title shot with
\na win. I came up short in all three of those. I\u2019m at a point in my
\nlife where I\u2019m thinking about family stuff and all these things,
\nand next steps, future things. So, I do want to compete and I still
\nwant to fight again, but I want to make sure that when I\u2019m going in
\nthere, I\u2019m going for a purpose and a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Namajunas is 1-2 in her last three bouts and 3-3 since moving up to
\nflyweight.<\/p>\n
