\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>, getting his hand raised at

\nUFC Abu Dhabi<\/a>, but he isn\u2019t entirely content with his
\nperformance.<\/p>\n

Kuniev secured a finish against Tyrell
\nFortune<\/a> at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The back-and-forth
\nheavyweight clash was later awarded Fight of the Night, with both
\nheavyweights having their moments before the third-round
\nstoppage.<\/p>\n

Rizvan Kuniev reflects on mistakes after Tyrell Fortune
\nstoppage at UFC Abu Dhabi<\/h2>\n

Fortune (18-4) proved to be a solid test for the Russian, who
\neventually landed two back-to-back knees to prompt the referee to
\nintervene. Despite finding a finish, Kuniev (14-3) later admitted
\nthat he expects more from himself moving forward, especially
\nconsidering his championship aspirations.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course I made some mistakes,\u201d Kuniev said in a post-fight
\ninterview. \u201cBecause I rushed sometimes too fast into the fight, but
\nwe will work it out and as my coach said, I\u2019m on top now. Top 15,
\nyou know. And you cannot make mistakes at this level if you want to
\nbe a champion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kuniev is now 2-1 in the UFC after earning a contract on
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a>. He lost his Octagon debut to
\nformer title challenger Curtis
\nBlaydes<\/a> before returning to winning ways against Jailton
\nAlmeida<\/a>.<\/p>\n
