Carlos
\nUlberg<\/a> has a pitch for how the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> should handle the light
\nheavyweight title mix.<\/p>\n

The reigning champion believes none of the division’s top-ranked
\ncontenders have done enough to earn a title shot, so he proposed a
\nsolution, essentially laying out a four-man tournament to determine
\nhis next opponent.<\/p>\n

Carlos Ulberg\u2019s UFC matchmaking idea targets Magomed Ankalaev,
\nJiri Prochazka and more<\/h2>\n

Ulberg took on the role of a matchmaker and offered some
\nsuggestions for how the top of the division should be matched up to
\ndetermine the next title challenger in a new Instagram post. This
\ncame shortly after Magomed
\nAnkalaev<\/a>‘s win at
\nUFC Abu Dhabi<\/a>, where the Kiwi was in attendance.<\/p>\n

“After last night’s fights, here’s my thoughts,” Ulberg wrote on
\nInstagram. “Ankalaev vs. Jiri. Give them both full camps. It’s a
\nfight the division deserves, and stylistically, it’s one the fans
\nwould love to see. Costa vs. Rountree. That’s a wildcard. High
\nrisk, high reward. Someone’s leaving with serious momentum. By the
\ntime the dust settles, I’ll be ready. Whoever earns it. See you in
\n2027.”<\/p>\n

Ulberg is currently sidelined with an ACL injury he suffered in his
\ntitle-winning effort against Jiri
\nProchazka<\/a> in April. \u201cBlack Jag\u201d is yet to reveal a timeline for
\nhis return. Notably, UFC CEO Dana
\nWhite<\/a> previously suggested that an interim title could be up
\nfor grabs while Ulberg completes his recovery.<\/p>\n
