Jan
\nBlachowicz<\/a>‘s journey back to title contention has taken another
\nunexpected turn.<\/p>\n

The former
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> light heavyweight titleholder
\nwas originally slated to rematch Bogdan
\nGuskov<\/a> at
\nUFC Belgrade<\/a> on Aug. 1 in Serbia. However, those plans changed
\nwhen Guskov was offered the
\nUFC Abu Dhabi<\/a> main event spot against Magomed
\nAnkalaev<\/a> following Khalil
\nRountree<\/a>‘s withdrawal.<\/p>\n

As such, Blachowicz (29-11-2) will now square off against Navajo
\nStirling<\/a> in the new co-main event in Belgrade and the Polish
\nveteran is unfazed by the change.<\/p>\n

After Guskov accepted the short-notice bout against Ankalaev,
\nBlachowicz was paired with Stirling. The former champion insists
\nlittle has changed in his preparation. \u201cI am doing this all my life,\u201d Blachowicz said in a recent
\ninterview. \u201cIt\u2019s a new opponent. I have a lot of respect for him,
\nbut it’s just another fighter who I have to stop. I don\u2019t think
\nabout this mess around because I don\u2019t want to waste energy for
\nthat. Okay, it\u2019s a new opponent; that\u2019s it. We do small changes and
\nwe are here to win the fight against him, or a different opponent
\ndoesn\u2019t matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

The upcoming matchup gives Blachowicz an opportunity to halt the
\nlongest winless stretch of his UFC tenure. He has gone four
\nstraight outings without a victory and is coming off a majority
\ndraw against Guskov this past December. His last win came all the
\nway back in May 2022 when he defeated Aleksandar
\nRakic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll have his work cut out for him against the surging Stirling,
\nwho boasts a perfect 10-0 record.<\/p>\n
