Jon
\nJones<\/a> remains highly confident in his ability.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, the former
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> heavyweight and light
\nheavyweight titleholder weighed in on how he believes a fight
\nagainst fellow former two-division king Alex
\nPereira<\/a> and a wrestling match against longtime rival Daniel
\nCormier<\/a> would unfold, backing himself in both scenarios.<\/p>\n

Jon Jones explains why he sees grappling as the deciding factor
\nin a hypothetical fight with Alex Pereira<\/h2>\n

Jones and Pereira were seemingly on a collision course when the
\nlatter announced his move up to heavyweight for
\nUFC Freedom 250<\/a>. However, with Jones\u2019 ongoing stalemate with
\nthe UFC regarding his future, a fight against \u201cPoatan\u201d has fallen
\nthrough.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Jones cites size as a key factor at heavyweight,
\nclaiming his former opponents Stipe
\nMiocic<\/a> and Ciryl Gane<\/a>
\nare bigger than Pereira, who previously competed at 185 pounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cI watched Pereira train,\u201d Jones said in an interview with AFL
\nGlobal. \u201cI see his level of wrestling and it’s way behind. I feel
\nas if Stipe Miocic is a true heavyweight. He’s a big, big boy.
\nCiryl Gane, when you see him in person, he’s a big, big boy. Alex
\nPereira is not a big, big boy. He’s a lean guy. I think right now
\nhe weighs maybe 250.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones believes his size and grappling would have overwhelmed
\nPereira, predicting a submission win had they collided inside the
\nOctagon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel as if my physical strength would have been too much for
\nhim,\u201d Jones said. \u201cI felt as if the moment I would have gotten him
\nto the ground, my submissions would have come pretty quickly. I
\nmean, everyone knows that. I think that’s the clearest path to
\nvictory for me against Alex Pereira. But we’re not fighting. I am a
\nfan of him. I support him, and I want to see him do well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBones\u201d also discussed his approach towards a potential wrestling
\nmatch with Cormier, who he\u2019s already shared the cage with
\ntwice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I would have beat D.C. in a wrestling match,\u201d Jones said.
\n\u201cIt wouldn’t be easy, but I think I would beat him in wrestling. I
\nhear that he has problems with his back, so my strategy would be to
\njust try to wear on him. Not shoot, not go for the takedown, but
\njust hand fight, hand fight, hand fight and see if I could wear on
\nthat back.\u201d<\/p>\n
