\ntrash-talking ahead of their upcoming title fight as long as the
\nIrish contender avoids certain subjects.<\/p>\n

As Makhachev prepares to defend his
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> welterweight crown against Garry
\nin the UFC
\n330<\/a> headliner on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in
\nPhiladelphia, Javier Mendez believes the pre-fight exchanges have
\nhelped generate interest in the matchup.<\/p>\n

However, the
\nAmerican Kickboxing Academy<\/a> founder made it clear that certain
\nsubjects are unacceptable.<\/p>\n

Javier Mendez explains where Ian Garry should draw the
\nline<\/h2>\n

Speaking to NewBettingSites<\/a>, Mendez praised Garry for
\nadding to the hype surrounding the upcoming welterweight title
\nfight without crossing the line. The veteran coach believes
\ncountry, family and religion should be completely off limits for
\npre-fight trash talk.<\/p>\n

\u201cBetween Ian [Garry] and Ali [Abdelaziz], it\u2019s good to build the
\ndrama and make it interesting for the fans,\u201d Mendez said. \u201cGarry is
\ndoing all the right things and saying all the stuff to make the
\nfight more interesting — without going overboard, of course.
\nRegardless of what is being said, they have to get in the cage and
\nfight. I\u2019m fine with trash talk. As long as it has nothing to do
\nwith the country, family or religion.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the same interview, Mendez also dismissed any comparisons
\nbetween the upcoming bout and the heated rivalry between Khabib
\nNurmagomedov<\/a> and Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a>, as Garry has remained respectful unlike
\n\u201cNotorious.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are zero similarities to Conor vs. Khabib,\u201d Mendez added.
\n\u201cUnless Ian starts disrespecting family and religion or country,
\nbut I don\u2019t see him doing that or Islam doing it either. It\u2019s a
\nfight between them and I feel like if they want to include me and
\nKhabib, that\u2019s fine. We are fair game; we are trainers and part of
\nthe team. They should leave everyone else alone though.\u201d<\/p>\n

Makhachev enters UFC 330 with a 28-1 professional record and will
\nattempt to make the first defense of the welterweight title he
\nclaimed last year. A win over Garry (17-1) will see the Dagestani
