Ulberg (14-1) won the vacant title this past April, knocking out

\nProchazka<\/a> in the first round of their title clash. Currently
\nrecovering from an ACL injury he suffered in the bout, the Kiwi
\nchampion recently revealed that he plans to defend his belt in
\n2027. Ulberg even pitched some 205-pound matchups following
\nMagomed
\nAnkalaev<\/a>\u2019s win over Bogdan
\nGuskov<\/a> at
\nUFC Abu Dhabi<\/a>, pitting Ankalaev against Prochazka and Costa
\nagainst Khalil
\nRountree<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Costa, however, sees the divisional title picture playing out

Ulberg took to social media after former champion Ankalaev returned
\nto winning ways in a lackluster bout in Abu Dhabi to pitch the
\naforementioned matchups. \u201cAfter last night’s fights, here’s my thoughts: Ankalaev vs. Jiri.
\nGive them both a full camp. It’s a fight the division deserves, and
\nstylistically it’s one the fans would love to see,\u201d Ulberg wrote on
\nhis Instagram Stories. \u201cCosta vs. Rountree. That’s the wildcard.
\nHigh risk, high reward. Someone’s leaving with serious momentum. By
\nthe time the dust settles… I’ll be ready. Whoever earns it. See
\nyou in 2027. God is Great.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Costa (16-4) believes there will be a new light
\nheavyweight champion by the end of 2026 and considers himself
\nworthy of a title shot.<\/p>\n
