Saul \u201cCanelo\u201d Alvarez knows his legendary career is slowly
\napproaching its inevitable conclusion.<\/p>\n

The former champion recently opened up about his retirement plans
\nduring an appearance on CBS Mornings, saying he will let his
\nfitness determine how long to continue, not his age.<\/p>\n

Canelo Alvarez opens up on boxing future and life beyond the
\nsport<\/h2>\n

Alvarez has already established himself as one of the sport\u2019s most
\nprominent figures with world titles in four weight classes. At 36,
\nthe Mexican icon believes he still has plenty left physically, but
\ninsists he won’t ignore the signs when his body begins to slow
\ndown.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I’m there in the gym and I take a lot of punches and then my
\nbody doesn’t respond in the same way, then I know,\u201d Alvarez said.
\n\u201cI’m not going to go and fight with that kind of training. Because
\nin the training, you can see everything in the training camp.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alvarez, who has more than 60 wins in his decorated career, also
\nclaimed that he has very little left to compete for. While he still
\nfeels “good” during training sessions, he believes there’s “not
\nmuch left” for him to do in the sport and is already looking
\nahead.<\/p>\n

“I have other things to accomplish outside of boxing,\u201d he
\nadded.<\/p>\n

\nhe still loves boxing after nearly two decades in the ring, but he
\nsays that other goals wait for him when he\u2019s ready to stop
\ncompeting: \u201cI have other things to accomplish outside of
\nboxing.”<\/p>\n
