\nIsland, New York, was punctuated by a majestic performance in the
\nmain event.<\/p>\n

The
\nPFL New York<\/a> headliner saw current 155-pound titleholder
\nUsman
\nNurmagomedov<\/a> (22-0, 1 NC; 4-0 PFL) defend his championship
\nagainst Archie
\nColgan<\/a> (13-1, 2-1 PFL). After a feeling-out couple of minutes
\nin the center of the cage, Nurmagomedov connected with a head kick
\non his opponent\u2019s temple before following up with a big left hand
\nthat dropped Colgan. Shortly after the American managed to
\nrecompose himself and get back to his feet, Nurmagomedov followed
\nup with more uppercuts that sent \u201cKing\u201d to his knees. Smelling
\nblood, the Dagestani landed more punches before referee Keith
\nPeterson<\/a> waved it off at the 3:42 mark of Round 1. In his
\npost-fight interview, Nurmagomedov was noncommittal about his
\nfuture in the promotion, since Friday\u2019s fight was the last on his
\ncurrent contract.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event, Dakota
\nDitcheva<\/a> (16-0, 11-0 PFL) made a successful return from a
\nyear-long injury hiatus, taking on former Bellator
\nMMA<\/a> title challenger Denise
\nKielholtz<\/a> (9-6, 1-1 PFL). \u201cDangerous\u201d showed no cage rust,
\ncombining clean, sharp striking with effective takedowns, putting
\nany concerns about the injured hand to rest. Ditcheva made the most
\nof her reach, attacking from range with front kicks to the head and
\nmidsection, while Kielholtz answered with a few spinning attacks
\nbut overall posed little threat. The pace slowed in the third
\nframe, drawing scattered boos as Ditcheva went the distance for the
\nthird time in her otherwise finish-heavy career. When the dust
\nsettled, all three judges scored it 30-27 for Ditcheva.<\/p>\n

In a 157-pound catchweight tilt, Amru
\nMagomedov<\/a> (10-0, 2-0 PFL) kept his record unblemished by
\novercoming Angel
\nAlvarez<\/a> (11-3, 1-1 PFL). Magomedov attacked with a variety of
\nstrikes out of the gate, but his kicks proved to be his most lethal
\nweapon. After \u201cSalsa King,\u201d who failed to make the contracted
\n155-pound weight limit the day before, crumpled from the damage,
\nMagomedov
\npoured it on until referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in at 4:28 of
\nRound 2<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nKing Walker<\/a> (2-1, 0-1 PFL). \u201cBlack Black” hunted his opponent
\ndown with strikes from the opening bell before
\ntaking the fight to the canvas and finishing \u201cThe Sacred Beast\u201d
\nfrom mount at 2:35 into the opening stanza<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the featured fight on the preliminary card, Lazaro
\nDayron<\/a> (11-0-1, 3-0-1 PFL) relied on his crisp striking and
\nwell-timed takedowns to outpoint former interim Bellator MMA
\n135-pound titleholder Raufeon
\nStots<\/a> (21-5, 1-3 PFL) at the end of a close contest, with two
\njudges scoring 29-28 in favor of \u201cEl Cazador\u201d and one 29-28 for
\n\u201cSupa\u201d; earlier, Sean Gauci<\/a>
