\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> veteran Lucie Pudilova has
\npatiently toiled away for her opportunity at a world title. But
\ndespite the setbacks and injuries, she vows that her sacrifices
\nwill pay off gloriously Saturday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been waiting a long time for the opportunity to have this
\nfight,\u201d Pudilova told Sherdog.com. \u201cI\u2019ve battled through my
\ninjuries so I could be ready as fast as possible and still I\u2019ve
\nbeen kept waiting. But now I\u2019m here. Finally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former UFC veteran Lucie Pudilova says years of injuries and
\npostponed fights have prepared her to challenge unbeaten Oktagon
\nchampion Lucia Szabova<\/h2>\n

Pudilova aims to shock the world when she challenges unbeaten Lucia
\nSzabova for the Oktagon<\/a>
\nbantamweight title at
\nOktagon 92<\/a> at Stvanice Stadium in Prague, Czech Republic. This
\nfight is six years in the making as Pudilova (17-11) has had the
\nOktagon flyweight and bantamweight double champion in her sights
\nsince 2020. Twice they were scheduled to fight, and both times
\ntheir fight has fallen apart, but Pudilova says nothing will keep
\nher from getting her hands on the champion this time around.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a great opportunity because her hype is high and mine is
\nnot, so I feel like I will head into this fight with a
\nsurprise.\u201d<\/p>\n

But it will be hard to stun the Oktagon double-champion. Szabova
\n(9-0) is a silent killer who has stopped her last three opponents
\nand she has some bad blood with the challenger. When the two were
\noriginally scheduled to fight in December 2024, Szabova pulled out
\nof the fight with the flu on days notice, much to Pudilova\u2019s
\ndismay.<\/p>\n

Luckily the fight would be rescheduled for the following summer,
\nbut Pudilova\u2019s career would take an unexpected turn after she
\nsuffered a devastating knee injury in training. Tearing her
\nmeniscus and multiple ligaments would force her to withdraw and
\nwatch from the sidelines as Szabova added another title around her
\nwaist.<\/p>\n

Szabova\u2019s star burned bright as Puidlova grinded through the
\ndarkness of a difficult rehabilitation. As a two-time UFC Fight of
\nthe Night recipient, Pudilova is no stranger to digging deep and
\ncoming back from adversity, but her disdain for Szabova was a jolt
\nof jet fuel to her fire.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do actually feel extra pressure,\u201d she added. \u201cI feel really
\nexcited to fight in front of a home crowd, but this is good. I want
\nto feel pressure before the fight. It’s not good to like feel
\nnothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

With her chance to stun the world and become the first person to
\ndefeat Szabova, Pudilova understands the stakes of this fight.
\nHeadlining Oktagon 92 in her home country is a dream come true
\nafter a lifetime of scraps. Pudilova has fallen short against the
\nlikes of Liz Carmouche, Ailin Perez and Joselyn Edwards, but has
\nnever been knocked out. She\u2019s waited long enough for her moment,
\nand Saturday could be the night where her career changes
\nforever.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Szabova\u2019s] opponents come in and they don\u2019t look like they
\nactually want to win. They see her film and they come into the
\nfight scared. But this will not happen to me. I\u2019m not scared of
\nher.\u201d<\/p>\n
