\nrallying for a spot on their roster, including a former
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> flyweight.<\/p>\n

MVP and PFL recently announced a historic merger that has made
\nwaves in the world of combat sports. The new league will operate
\nunder the MVP banner, led by Jake Paul<\/a> and
\nNakisa Bidarian. Meanwhile, former PFL CEO John Martin will serve
\nas CEO and Board Member of the new company.<\/p>\n

The new league vows to follow a fighter-first approach with
\nequitable compensation for athletes, along with the opportunity to
\nbuild their brands inside and outside of the cage.<\/p>\n

Muhammad Mokaev eyes new home after PFL-MVP merger<\/h2>\n

Former UFC flyweight Muhammad
\nMokaev<\/a> (17-0) is already rallying for a spot on the new
\nleague\u2019s roster if they have a flyweight division. \u201cIf MVP & PFL Make 125 division I\u2019m ready for long term deal,\u201d
\nMokaev wrote on X.<\/p>\n

Since MVP doesn\u2019t have a full-fledged roster and PFL didn\u2019t have a
\nmen\u2019s flyweight division, it remains to be seen if the new union
\nintroduces the 125-pound division for men.<\/p>\n

Despite being on the cusp of title contention, Mokaev shockingly
\nleft the UFC following a lackluster win over Manel Kape<\/a>
\nin 2024 after the promotion opted against offering him a renewal.
\nWhile the reason for his exit was speculated to be issues outside
\nthe Octagon, \u201cThe Punisher\u201d claims he\u2019d been warned to change his
\nwrestling-heavy fighting style.<\/p>\n

Mokaev has finished three of four MMA outings since leaving the
\nUFC, along with a finish at Karate Combat. Notably, he was
\nscheduled to fight Adriano
\nMoraes<\/a> at MVP\u2019s first MMA card this past June. However, the
\nDagestani-Brit was pulled from the card a week before fight night
\ndue to visa issues.<\/p>\n
