\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> debut.<\/p>\n

Battle made his promotional debut against Johnny
\nEblen<\/a> in Pittsburgh this past March. He looked completely out
\nof his depth as Eblen repeatedly slammed him on the canvas before
\nmaking him tap to a face crank in the opening round.<\/p>\n

Bryan Battle Opens Up On Divorce, UFC Release Before PFL
\nDebut<\/h2>\n

Battle claims he couldn\u2019t give his 100% in training for the fight
\nagainst Eblen. \u201cThe Butcher\u201d revealed that issues like his divorce
\nand exit from the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> were cluttering his mind going
\ninto his PFL debut. Battle believes the lopsided beatdown from
\nEblen has taught him the hard way to give maximum effort going
\nforward.<\/p>\n

\u201cI learned lessons,\u201d Battle told Ariel Helwani. \u201cThere was
\ndefinitely a bit of a learning curve, once again, headlining and
\nfighting a bona fide former world champion\u2026 And there’s just things
\nin life. Thought we could get away with that. This game demands
\neverything you got\u2026 Over the past year, it’s just been a lot of
\nthings happening… I got divorced. I got cut from the UFC… I was
\ndoing the best I could, but I wasn’t giving it everything I had.
\nCause I just had parts of me spread out in different areas of life.
\nSometimes it takes an ass whooping like that to be like, \u2018All my
\neggs are gonna be in one basket.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Battle (12-3) earned his UFC contract by winning the 29th season of
\n\u201cThe Ultimate Fighter\u201d in the middleweight bracket in 2021. He was
\nthen released from the UFC last year due to a string of weight
\nmisses, despite going 7-1 in the promotion. Battle is now scheduled
\nto fight Dalton
\nRosta<\/a> (11-3) in his sophomore PFL bout on Aug. 7 at Bojangles
\nColiseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.<\/p>\n
