Michel
\nPereira<\/a> is looking to appeal his loss to Sharabutdin
\nMagomedov<\/a>, which was followed by his release from the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pereira took on Magomedov in a middleweight bout in the co-main
\nevent of
\nUFC Baku<\/a>. While Magomedov came away with a unanimous decision
\nwin, the fight was marred by controversy. The Russian pulled
\nPereira\u2019s hair multiple times from bottom position in the first
\nround. While referee Herb Dean<\/a>
\nwarned Magomedov against committing any more fouls, he didn\u2019t
\ndeduct any points when \u201cShara Bullet\u201d accidentally eye-poked
\nPereira in the third round.<\/p>\n

Michel Pereira seeks overturned result after disputed UFC Baku
\nfight with Sharabutdin Magomedov<\/h2>\n

Pereira subsequently wasn\u2019t offered a contract renewal and the
\nBrazilian is now looking to overturn his last result to a draw. He
\nis grateful for his UFC career, holds nothing against the promotion
\nand is proud of some of the memorable moments he delivered to fans
\ninside the Octagon.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything happened the way it happened and I’m very grateful,\u201d
\nPereira told Ignition Poker Brazil<\/a>. \u201cYou’ll never hear me bad
\nmouthing them because they treated me well and I fulfilled my dream
\nof fighting there. I pulled off techniques in that Octagon that
\nnobody else will ever duplicate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pereira is consulting his lawyer to appeal the result of his fight
\nagainst Magomedov. \u201cDemolidor\u201d notes that the bout would have ended
\nin a draw if his opponent had been penalized for hair pulling.
\nPereira also believes that his career has taken multiple blows due
\nto inconsistent officiating.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, I am still actively pushing behind the scenes with my
\nlawyer to get the result of my last fight reviewed,\u201d Pereira added.
\n\u201cIt’s one thing when an accidental eye poke or a low blow happens
\nin the heat of a fight. But in my opinion, Shara pulled my hair
\nthree times. Herb Dean warned him but never deducted a point. Based
\non the scorecards, a single point deduction would have made the
\nfight a 28-28 draw. I firmly believe that refereeing errors
\ncompletely changed the outcome of my career. It frustrates me
\ndeeply because commissions and referees always lecture us on the
\nrules backstage, but then they failed to enforce them when it
\nmattered most. I’ve had nearly fifty fights; I know the rules.
\nReferees just need to do their jobs consistently.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pereira (32-15) exited the promotion having lost four of his last
