\nMorales<\/a> has been tabbed as the official backup for the
\nchampionship bout between Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> and Ian Garry<\/a>,
\nwhich headlines UFC 330 on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in
\nPhiladelphia.<\/p>\n

Michael Morales becomes UFC 330 backup for Islam Makhachev vs.
\nIan Garry title fight<\/h2>\n

Morales (19-0) has confirmed that he has been instructed to make
\nchampionship weight (170 pounds) and remain on standby should
\neither Makhachev (28-1) or Garry (17-1) be forced to withdraw due
\nto injury, illness or any other unforeseen circumstance.<\/p>\n

The assignment marks another significant milestone for the
\nEcuadorian prospect, who has rapidly emerged as one of the
\ndivision’s top contenders. Morales has remained unbeaten through
\nseven Octagon appearances and secured the biggest victory of his
\ncareer with a first-round knockout of Sean Brady<\/a>
\nin November last year.<\/p>\n

The
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> alum has also built significant
\nmomentum, in terms of both results and popularity, winning three
\nconsecutive Performance of the Night bonuses in his last three
\noutings.<\/p>\n
