Dakota Ditcheva discusses fan reaction, Denise Kielholtz win
\nand PFL New York return<\/h2>\n
Ditcheva has seven first-round stoppage victories in the PFL, but
\nher latest performance didn\u2019t live up to the hype behind her. After
\nher unanimous decision win at UBS Arena in Belmont, New York,
\nDitcheva discussed hearing boos from the crowd during her fight
\nwith Kielholtz.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt bothered me\u2026 Only because I\u2019m passionate about the work I do
\nand I wanted a stoppage myself,\u201d Ditcheva said at the post-fight
\npress conference. \u201cBut at the same time, words from my brother and
\nmy coach will always be, \u2018We don\u2019t care about what anybody else
\nthinks.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
While she wants to be known as an entertaining fighter, Ditcheva
\nreiterated that her primary goal is always winning the fight by
\nwhatever means necessary.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t want them to boo because I want to be exciting and
\nentertaining for you guys, but at the same time, I\u2019m in there
\nfighting,\u201d Ditcheva added. \u201cI\u2019m not in there, like, performing a
\ndance. I have to do what\u2019s right for me to get the win and come out
\non top and that\u2019s what I did today.\u201d<\/p>\n
The fight marked Ditcheva\u2019s return following a year-long layoff due
\nto injuries. Despite failing to find a finish, the Brit is content
\nwith her performance and sees the positives in accruing 15 more
\nminutes of cage time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got a good three rounds out of the fight,\u201d Ditcheva concluded.
\n\u201cI\u2019ve been out for a long time, so it\u2019s good experience for me. My
\ncoaches are happy, because it\u2019s valuable time in the cage that I
\nneed as an athlete and a fighter in order to keep progressing.\u201d<\/p>\n
