\nagain.<\/p>\n

The
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> heavyweight is set to take on
\nGuilherme
\nPat<\/a> at
\nUFC Vegas 120<\/a> on Aug. 8 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Asplund is
\ncoming off a loss to Vitor
\nPetrino<\/a> in his sophomore UFC outing this past March and has
\nleft no stone unturned in preparation this time around.<\/p>\n

Steven Asplund explains how his Vitor Petrino loss changed his
\nUFC training approach<\/h2>\n

Asplund admits that losses feel like the end of the world to him.
\n\u201cConcrete\u201d vowed to himself after his last defeat that he would
\nnever have to question himself again about giving maximum effort in
\npreparation. The 28-year-old recently revealed that he has invested
\nin a home gym so he can be in better shape for his upcoming
\nbout.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis time I have invested in myself,\u201d Asplund said in a recent
\ninterview. \u201cI bought a home gym, I put a ton of dumbbells in my
\ngarage, an Airdyne bike and squat rack\u2026 I never want to feel that
\nway again. These losses feel like death to me. I don\u2019t show my face
\nafter a loss\u2026 This sh*t is like death. I don\u2019t just want to win. I
\nwant to be champion someday. I dwelled on it, I thought about it a
\nlot and I came to an understanding and I made an agreement with
\nmyself that I\u2019m never going to ask myself if I could have done more
\nbefore I fight again. This fight I know I could not\u2026 I have done
\neverything I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Asplund and Pat are 1-1 in the UFC coming off losses. The
\nformer is eager to make quick work of his Brazilian counterpart and
\nreturn to the win column.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going for a first-round KO. Heavy pace, lots of strength,
\nheavy elbows, swarm him.\u201d<\/p>\n
