\nCormier<\/a> believes Ali Abdelaziz may be getting carried away with
\nhis assessment of Usman
\nNurmagomedov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nurmagomedov (22-0) recently completed his
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> contract in emphatic fashion,
\nstopping Archie
\nColgan<\/a> in the opening round at
\nPFL New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The undefeated lightweight is now a free agent and
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> CEO Dana
\nWhite<\/a> has indicated that his promotion is interested.<\/p>\n

Daniel Cormier says Usman Nurmagomedov will have his work cut
\nout for him in the UFC<\/h2>\n

Abdelaziz has made lofty predictions about what Nurmagomedov could
\naccomplish against the UFC’s elite. The veteran manager has claimed
\nthat the undefeated Russian would finish the likes of Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a>, Paddy
\nPimblett<\/a>, Charles
\nOliveira<\/a> and Max
\nHolloway<\/a>, expectedly leaving out his other client, Justin
\nGaethje<\/a>, the reigning UFC lightweight champ.<\/p>\n

Cormier acknowledged Nurmagomedov’s considerable talent but
\nbelieves there is a major difference between dominating the PFL
\nlightweight division and proving yourself against the UFC’s
\ntop-tier contenders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get it, that\u2019s your guy, but you\u2019re speaking about the absolute
\nbest guys in the world,\u201d Cormier said in a video on his YouTube
\nchannel. Addressing Abdelaziz\u2019s claims. \u201cThis dude might be a
\nlittle bit out there. I think Usman Nurmagomedov is special\u2026 I know
\nhe has championship-level experience\u2026 The UFC guys are just
\nbetter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cormier has trained with Nurmagomedov and believes the UFC
\nlightweight division presents a significantly greater challenge
\nthan what the PFL offers.<\/p>\n

“Easier said than done, I train with the guy, I really care about
\nthe guy but to go out there and be really far left about who those
\nguys are, because I know who Max Holloway is, I know who Ilia
\nTopuria is, I know who Paddy Pimblett is, I know who Charles
\nOliveira is, I know who they are as fighters,\u201d Cormier continued.
\n\u201cI know who they are. To think they would just be completely
\ndominated and outclassed is just absolutely crazy and I will tell
\nAli that to his face.\u201d<\/p>\n
