Dana
\nWhite<\/a> believes many NFL players could find success in the
\n
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> if they transitioned to mixed
\nmartial arts.<\/p>\n

Yet another former NFL player recently earned a UFC contract.
\nFormer New York Jets linebacker Anthony
\nWint<\/a> headlined Week 1 of
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> 2026 against Matthew
\nAdams<\/a>. Wint made quick work of Adams, finishing him with
\nground-and-pound in just 34 seconds to earn a UFC contract. As Wint
\nrefuses to leave Las Vegas until his first UFC fight is booked,
\nWhite is looking to put him on the
\nUFC Sacramento<\/a> card on Aug. 22.<\/p>\n

Dana White weighs in on NFL players in the UFC after Anthony
\nWint wins contract on DWCS<\/h2>\n

White believes a lot of NFL players could have achieved the
\npinnacle of success in the UFC if they had trained MMA since
\nchildhood. The UFC CEO particularly mentioned Las Vegas Raiders
\ndefensive end Maxx Crosby, who he\u2019s friends with. White is
\nconfident that Crosby could have been a UFC champion if he had
\ntrained MMA from a young age.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you look at a lot of these guys that play in the NFL, if
\nthey\u2026 Imagine if Maxx Crosby trained in MMA since he was a kid, he
\nwould be a world champion right now,\u201d White said at the DWCS
\npost-fight press conference. \u201cAnd I believe that to my core. And I
\nknow a lot of sh*t about Maxx Crosby that you guys don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is a long list of football players who made it to the UFC
\nafter transitioning to MMA. The likes of Ovince St.
\nPreux<\/a>, Eryk Anders<\/a>
\nand Dominick
\nReyes<\/a> only played college football before transitioning to MMA.
\nMeanwhile, others like Greg Hardy<\/a>,
\nAusten
\nLane<\/a>, Zac Pauga<\/a> and
\nMatt
\nMitrione<\/a> made it to the NFL before switching.<\/p>\n

Josh
\nHokit<\/a> is the latest high-profile fighter to have transitioned
\nfrom football to MMA. Hokit was picked up as an undrafted free
\nagent by the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 and had a brief stint with
\nthe Arizona Cardinals in 2022. \u201cThe Incredible Hok\u201d transitioned to
\nMMA soon after and made his UFC debut last year. He has shot to
\nstardom lately, with three finishes in four wins so far.<\/p>\n
